Kabuki Diamonds Embroidered Upholstered Bench Coral/White

The inspiration for this design came from an old kimono I had and loved, not the silk-with-embroidery kind of a kimono but a much humbler cotton one with a white crisscross print on indigo cotton. So this is my take on that - a crisp white geometric design of interlocking diamonds embroidered on cotton canvas in a wonderful sunset-on-Mount-Fuji coral colour. It's a cool modern update on that Victorian classic of the tapestry-upholstered bench. Ours is almost completely covered with embroidery, done in chain stitch on a hand-held machine. It's petite enough to fit in anywhere, but solid enough to stay stable, with ebony-stained, hand-turned legs of sustainable mango wood and a hand-embroidered top adding softness and a shot of colour.
