Pinwheels Embroidered Bench Multicoloured

This features an entire herbaceous border of multi-coloured flowers in lime, emerald, two shades of hot pink, jade, turquoise, lilac, magenta and smoky blue-grey, which almost smother the heavy ivory ground. I'm really proud of our Indian artisans for creating something so radiantly, colourfully joyous and technically so complicated as this nine-colour embroidery. It's a cool, modern update on that Victorian classic of the tapestry-upholstered bench. Ours is almost completely covered with embroidery, done in chain stitch on a hand-held machine using the traditional technique used for centuries. It's petite enough to fit in anywhere, but solid enough to stay stable, with hand-turned legs of sustainable mango wood and a hand-embroidered top adding softness and vibrant colours.
