Safi Embroidered Upholstered Bench Navy on Linen

Our inimitable Bombay Duck take on a traditional Indian design of wheels and arrows comes in our lavish embroidery in navy on a palest ivory linen ground. Furniture is a newish departure for Bombay Duck - I won't design anything where I'm simply duplicating existing products already out there: it has to be better, it has to be supremely useful, and it has to add that extra something to your home in the way of colour, pattern or detail. I'm happy that this bench achieves all that. It's a cool modern update on that Victorian classic of the tapestry-upholstered bench. Ours is almost completely covered with embroidery, done in chain stitch on a hand-held machine using the traditional technique used for centuries. It's petite enough to fit in anywhere, but solid enough to stay stable, with ebony-stained, hand-turned legs of sustainable mango wood and a hand-embroidered top adding softness and a shot of colour.
